同期ソフト Weaveが0.2.0へアップデート

  • タブの同期が増えているよ！
  • 個人的には、リリースノートに書かれていますが、同期の速度のパフォーマンスが改善されていると思います。それでも１〜２分かかっています。
  • リリースノートに書かれているとおり、Linux（私の場合Ubuntu8.0.4)ではうまく動きません。私の場合、Passphraseの入力がinvalidになってしまいます。
    • リリースノートでは、Ubuntuの場合 libnspr4-dev, libnss3-devの2つのパッケージをインストールする必要があるとなっています。
    • UbuntuのFirefoxで、今日一度Weave0.2.0を削除して、再インストールしたところ、Sign Inできるようになりました。何が原因でうまくいくようになったのかわかりませんが。
  • Firefox終了時の同期 quit sync 中に、再度Firefoxを立ち上げて作業していると、quit syncの同期が終わり次第、予告なく急にFirefoxが終了します。作業中だったセッションは保存されません。

Major Updates and Features

* Significant reworking of the installation and setup experience.
* Support for major browser data types, including bookmarks, browsing history, cookies, saved passwords, saved form data, and tabs.
* Intelligent scheduler for determining when to synchronize data between browser and server to improve performance.
* RSA public/private keys and AES encryption of all user data on the client side through NSS, the crypto library used by Firefox.
* End-to-end encryption, with initial support for secure sharing of data with a 3rd party and with XMPP-based notifications of shares.

Getting Weave 0.2 [edit]

1. Backup your Firefox profile. (See Backing Up Your Information.)
2. Download and install the latest version of the Weave experimental prototype. Restart Firefox.
3. Weave will launch a Setup Wizard that will guide you through the installation process. (Note: Both new and existing users will be required to create a new Weave account.)
4. Follow the instructions presented by Weave.
5. Tell us about your experience in the Weave forum or by filing a bug.

Data Synchronization [edit]

* Intelligent scheduler for synchronization to improve performance.
* Expanded set of supported browser settings and metadata, including:
o Bookmarks
o Browsing History
o Cookies
o Saved Passwords
o Saved Form Data
o Tabs

Incompatibilities with certain Linux distributions.
Unfortunately, we're still tracking down the exact nature of the problem, but please try a Firefox build from getfirefox.com as that might fix the problem. On Ubuntu systems, you might also try installing the libnspr4-dev and libnss3-dev packages. See bug 442788 for more information.
